This image shows the completed northwest sub-module.
-
-
-
Begin with an 8' long 2x8. Cut it to 6' 11 1/2" as shown in the image.
-
Make the notch shown in the image. The image shows the notch at 7 1/4", but I would make it 7 5/8". You want to leave 3 1/2" of board when you are finished making the notch.
-
-
-
Make 8 studs at 4' - 9 9/16" long, to be used as shown in the image. These pieces are all identical to each other.
-
Cut these pieces from 6' 2x4s.
-
Make a top plate that is 6' - 11 1/2" long. Cut this from an 8' 2x4.
-
-
-
ADD STEP HERE ABOUT LAYING OUT THE TOP PLATE.
-
-
-
ADD STEP SHOWING ATTACHING OF STUDS.
-
-
-
Cut pieces of plywood for the exterior as shown in the image.
-
Cut the large piece first, as it is a full 4' wide. Then use the table saw to rip the leftover piece to 2' - 11 1/4"
-
You will need to make another narrower piece that is also 2' - 11 1/4" wide. To determine the length of this piece, subtract the length of the piece you just made from the total length of the long plywood piece.
-
ADD NOTE: When we created this module, the lengths worked out to be _____ for our leftover from the long piece, and _____ for the other piece.
-
-
-
ADD STEP FOR MARKING EXTERIOR PLYWOOD.
-
-
-
We will also make plywood pieces for the inside of the wall module. These pieces will be made from 3/8" plywood.
-
Both of these pieces will need to be ripped on the table saw.
-
Rip one to 3' - 8".
-
Rip the other to 3' - 3/4".
-
-
-
ADD STEP SHOWING ASSEMBLY OF PLYWOOD TO FRAME.
